How Reiki Helps You Be More Present

Over the last few weeks many clients have mentioned wanting to be more present in their lives, rather than in their head with too many thoughts swirling around.

Repeatedly, clients have told me how difficult it is for them to meditate, but many find Reiki sessions make it possible for them to be present and achieve that same state of mind in a more accessible way.

Presence is one of the most important aspects of Reiki. The opposite of presence is distraction. When we’re present, we’re connected to our breath. We’re in our bodies (rather than our heads) and connected to our own internal guidance, that deepest and most profound part of ourselves.

This state of presence creates what one of my teachers, Frans Stiene, refers to as “an enormous openness and freedom where the universal (or Reiki) energy will have its own flow and wisdom.”

Through Reiki, we’re able to connect to something far larger than ourselves.

Try This

When you feel overwhelmed and thoughts are racing, drop you awareness to your breath and take three slow deep breaths. Notice how this immediately shifts things.

If you want to take it a step further, ask me to teach you the Heart Breathing Technique at your next session.

We’re living life, we might as well be present to enjoy it, right?
