People often ask can Reiki be done virtually, and the answer is yes!
Many clients are surprised to find that their Distance Reiki sessions are even more powerful than in-person.
Founded in the 1920s by Master Usui, the traditional Reiki system highlights Distance Reiki as a cornerstone practice. This technique allows me as the practitioner to transmit Reiki without you needing to be in the same room or geographic location.

What Should I Expect from Remote Reiki?
With virtual Reiki, I act as a channel for the Reiki (or Ki) to move through:
The Reiki energy clears and strengthens the meridians, chakras, and energy throughout your body according to what you need. I sense the energy in different places in the body similar to an in-person treatment.
While everyone experiences Distance Reiki differently, common responses include:
- A feeling of relaxation in the mind and body
- Physical sensations such as warmth or tingling
- An alleviation of physical symptoms
- Your mind calming down
- A stronger connection to your intuition
- You might feel quite alert and aware, or you might drift off
- A sense of peace and deep stillness

What Can I Do To Maximize The Effects Of Virtual Reiki?
While it’s not necessary, if you like you can create a healing space for yourself by:
- Meditating or offering a prayer beforehand
- Setting your intention to heal yourself
- Lighting a candle
- Playing relaxing music
- Journaling about what you want from the session in advance, or about what you notice after
At the end of the online Reiki healing, take a few minutes (longer if you like) to integrate everything from the session, taking a few deep breaths and sitting up slowly.
Bonus: take a nap if you can, we process so much when we sleep, so this can be quite powerful. Listen to your body and rest and move accordingly.
I also follow up with you after your session by email with recommendations of things to do and notice to help you prolong the positive effects of your remote Reiki sessions.
