The Secret to Finding Your Success

The Secret to Finding Your Success

Not trying to be anything other than who you are.
That’s an absurdly difficult thing to do and it can take many years.

Reiki, Hypnosis, Tao Hands & Connecting To Your True Self

I just finished reading a beautiful book by Maira Kalman. For those of you who aren’t familiar with her, Kalman is an illustrator, author, artist, and designer (here are some of her New Yorker magazine covers). I love her work and her play with words and images.

Her quote above is so true: it takes time for us to be who we really are. For Kalman, it comes down to intuition and the courage it takes to be an individual.

Releasing Self-Doubt

The past few weeks I’ve been working with a lot of clients who are artists: several actors, an opera singer or two, and a few writers. Each of them wanted help letting go of layers of self-doubt, fear of failure, fear of success, and the judgment of others, so that they can silence their inner critic and tap into their creativity and who they really are.

When I thought about it, I realized almost every person who comes for a session or takes one of my classes really wants help being who they are, whether they’re an artist or not.

It seems so simple and yet, being ourselves, underneath all the layers of expectations from ourselves and others, ideas of who we “should” be, limitations we place on ourselves or let others place on us, can be hard to find sometimes.

That’s why I love Reiki, Hypnosis, and Tao Hands Soul Healing–they each offer unique ways to tap into ourselves, through our mind, body, and spirit.

When we’re connected to who we truly are, that’s when we find success. Look around and notice how that’s true–or maybe think about times when you’ve pushed, trying to force success rather than being in the flow of who you are and allowing it to happen. In addition to making it easier to achieve success regarding your goals and pursuits, it’s a lot more comfortable and fun.

Similarly, when you think about the best artists out there–they’re the ones that don’t need the audience, it’s more of an offering, sharing with the audience who they truly are and letting others participate in that shared experience through the art form. That’s what makes Kalman so successful as an artist–she’s not afraid to show her eccentricities and unique way of looking at the world. And people love her for that.

What’s one layer you can let go of?
